cantharis treatment

Question:

>…Now I’ve learned cantharis is also >called Spanish Fly, Mylabris or Chinese Blister >Beetle. It is used for impotence, abortion and >warts for some time.

Ancient times, mostly, except for, perhaps, the treatment of warts:    http://www.merck.com/pubs/mmanual_home/sec18/204.htm >We’re suffering the same disease which fuse us >together. I search for information that might >help my guys and myself. Cantharis is the one >I’ve found last year. It is more like a >mysterious tale because I think it is something >of a witch’s trick. But facts never tell a lie.

In my own searches for cantharis (known by the name cantharidin or cantharidine by the medical community), I turn up little but homeopathic resources.  Homeopaths use cantharis pills for burns, scalds, and urinary problems.  Didn’t find one word about any homeopathic use for psoriasis, but after the first 40 or so Web pages selling the stuff, I admit I stopped looking. The Environmental Protection Agency considers cantharidin "highly toxic" when absorbed through the skin, and "super toxic" when taken orally (they seem to say that just 7 drops of the pure stuff can kill an average person – not that anyone is using pure cantharidin for much of anything, I hope):    http://www.epa.gov/swercepp/ehs/profile/56257p.txt What’s even more interesting is that topically- applied cantharidin has been used to *damage* the skin of psoriatics in medical studies:    http://www.pinch.com/skinny?medline=84178945 The last mention of this is in 1984, and since we’ve got the Koebner phenomenon to worry about, it sounds a little unethical. >There are so many sufferers got cleared by this >magic lotion which stunned me. If this is true…

That’s the real question, isn’t it?  You say, "so many." How many is that, exactly?  Also, how many have tried this lotion and did *not* get clear?  Without these two numbers, it is not possible to compare this stuff to any other psoriasis treatment, and see how well it really works. >…But I’m not ready to recieve cantharis >therapy now. I need a wise decision. What do you >think of this cantharis therapy?…

Personally, I’d stay away from it.  Unless you know how much cantharis is in the lotion, and how much of the lotion you’d be applying, you can’t know how close you’re coming to a dose which could cause you problems (the first you’d probably notice is a burning sensation when you pee – cantharis irritates the urethra as it is eliminated from the body in urine). By the way, for anybody looking to try cantharis, don’t bother with the "Spanish Fly" ads in the back of Penthouse and other magazines – it’s likely there’s no cantharis in that stuff at all. Sorry for starting a new thread, I can’t find the older one on this site. I post a message about a Chinese guy’s acient cantharis treatment on Dec 29. Some friend replyed to my post giving some information, some of you write to me for details. Thank you for your concerns. Now I’ve learned cantharis is also called Spanish Fly, Mylabris or Chinese Blister Beetle. It is used for impotence, abortion and warts for some time. We’re suffering the same disease which fuse us together. I search for information that might help my guys and myself. Cantharis is the one I’ve found last year. It is more like a mysterious tale because I think it is something of a witch’s trick. But facts never tell a lie. There are so many sufferers got cleared by this magic lotion which stunned me. If this is true, I think more sufferers, including Chinese and overseas’, could benefit from it in a short time before gene therapy is too far away. The lotion is cheap, for about only 10 USD per 500ml which is enough to apply for such a long time. And for most important, it is very effictive for P. I’m 20% covered by P. I’m tired of conventional drugs. But I’m not ready to recieve cantharis therapy now. I need a wise decision. What do you think of this cantharis therapy? For more information, please see my early post around on Dec 29 something.
