Behind ears P smells

Question:

i use nizoral, and cutivate. works pretty well

Response:

i meant nizoral and westcort, the cutivate is for my inverse P.

Response:

My inverse in the crease between my thighs and groin did that and would not heal. The derm said it was a secondary infection and now I use Polysporin first and immediately follow it with Dovonex Lotion. That keeps it under control. If I believe it is healed and don’t use the treatment for more that two days it comes back with a vengeance. By the way when I asked him about Neosporin he said to not use that at all. He said the Polysporin is much, much better. Oh, almost forgot, he also recommends half a cup to a cup of vinegar in the bath water when taking a tub bath.

Response:

mine don’t seem to have an odor. however, my inverse p does seem to have an odor. n

Response:

I will try it. I have to use Polysporin on the inverse p in the crease between my legs and groin before using the Dovonex Lotion for the same reason. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > You might want to check for a yeast infection. I thought it was pretty much a rule, odor means infection. Try some antibiotic/antifungal on it? J.

If that is true then when I was working road construction everybody was very sick. ‘-)

Response:

You might want to check for a yeast infection. Scalp is one of the places that never occur to people for such things when it’s actually relatively common. And JR’s absolutely right about what the first thought should be with a smell (assuming that it’s not the treatment itself). When you say behind the ears is stubborn, that’s one of the places that I’ve found using something oily, whether combining steroids with oil a la dermasmoothe or tar with oil a la balnetar or even alone particularly helpful. Especially if it’s prone to crack open there. Maybe an anti-fungal/antiyeast ointment rather than cream?? >I have psoriasis behind both ears and many other areas. I have psoriasis behind both ears and many other areas. The scales that flake off from behind the ears have a foul odor even though I am diligent about keeping the area clean. Olux Foam has done a lot to clear up the p around my ears, but the area behind the ears is very stubborn. I wonder if anyone else has had this same experience. Have you found out why? More importantly, have you found out what to do to eliminate the odor and/or the flakiness? Thanks Chuck
