Hi, Julie! I saved your other posting, but now I found this one. And, you are saying it yourself… What I wanted to say is that I was so glad to see your posting, since what you have experienced is quite common, but we don’t hear it too often. Many people respond well to treatment and experience exactly the same as you! Wonderful! Of course you are not cured, and it can come back, but it also happens that it never does. I think it is great that you are able to see the positive side of your battle
Take care and good luck! — Best regards, Visit my homepage: Med vennlig hilsen, <URL:http://home.newmedia.no/flaker/> _Aase Marit_

Congrats Julie, I oh so hope that it will not come back, but it is great that light has worked for you. I am so happy for you. If light continues to work well for you (if it shows its nasty head again), you might want to talk to your derm about writing you a prescription (or he can call it on) to National Biological Corporation. I purchased a light booth (one sided, about 6 foot with a timer, so you have to turn around to get both sides, but it only cost me $1500. I am sure they must be less 4 years later. Actually, I think it was $1550, but that was also shipped to Hawaii, I am sure it is less in the Continetal. I am so happy for you!!!!! Keep up what is working for you, and btw, tell your boyfriend he is GREAT!!! Scott M. Gray

It has been at least 7-8 months since I visited this newsgroup.. You see my P. went completly away this past Feb.. =) !!!! But there were many, many nights that I was pretty hopeless(maybe like you)–and i would search for something, anything to give me some hope. My fight with P. lasted about 7 months. Which, in hindsight, isn’t really that long! But,oh how it changed my life. I had at least 2 nervous breakdowns(for lack of a better term)–and soo many delusional days. I know realize how much of my life was centered around my looks.. I was twenty at the time and I lived such a party life! Sudenly my life changed when all summer I wore long pants–and basically dropped out of the social scene. I was ashamed, embarased, and mostly scared. You see, it took five months of going from doctor to doctor for one to FINALLY get a clue and refer me to a dermatologist! One said it was an allergy–gave me a strong ingection of a steriod, which I DID get a reaction from-and passed out cold in his office. Another told me they were hives, "they’ll go away"–another said "Scabies"–the most common diagnosis was a skin virus called "Pityriasis Rosea", which 2-3 doctors assured me would go away on it’s own fter six weeks or so..But I was also tested for every STD including HIV.. Fortunatly I have a great family who gives me boundless love. And I had a boyfriend who STUCK by me through those nights where i couldn’t sleep because of itching, orbecause my tears wouldn’t stop…someone who really loved me. Anyway…after i finally saw an intelligent dernatologist (who has SORT OF renewed my faith in doctors), it took only 6-8 weeks for my guttate psoriasis to disappear!!!!!!! I went 3 times a week for a minute or so in a light box. I drank tons of water, like I had read on this newsgroup would help. And every single day wothout fail I slathered the "Luberderm" lotion all over my body. I think this really helped! I wouldn’t even dry completely after my shower, I would lotion up, and wait for it to soak in. Another thing that ibelieve played a role in curing my P. is that I consiously made an effort to relax, control mytemper, and reduce my stress level. I know so many of you have tried these things and countless other "remedies" and they haven’t worked. But they did for me. I am writing this basically to let people know that there is hope!! Some people do beat it. There are a few things that living with P. taught me–one is compassion, empathy. Another is unconditional love. Good luck in your personal battle!! And know that with P. or not you only have one life(for sure) to live–and before you know it you may have wasted months or years hiding, like I did! Thanks for letting me tell my story. with affection, Julie
