Care to hear another new persons sob story?

Question:

Hi, Jamie… and welcome to the group! Sorry to hear you are having so many problems right now, not only with your skin, but other stuff as well. As to the possibility that you have both eczema and psoriasis, I suppose it is possible, but I would rather suspect that both areas are psoriasis, which does have different forms.  Have you been to a dermatologist? For lots of information, including photos of different forms of psoriasis, see the following excellent website:  http://www.psoriasis.org/  That is the home page of the National Psoriasis Foundation, a nonprofit organization of people with psoriasis.  Don’t be thrown off by the photos, as they are examples of more extreme cases.  Use them instead to see if you can find similarities in type with the rashes you have. As to nioxin, I’m afraid I am not familiar with the stuff, but can say that most any medication has a tendency to work at first, then stop working.  Our skin seems to like change, and often just changing something for a while will help, at least at first.  That is why it is often recommended to rotate treatments, as our skin will get used to anything we do for a long time. >I mean mine doesnt have >scales…its just red and spotty.ugh

Yep, mine is like that in certain areas, just depends where it forms as to the type it takes.  In folds under the breast, for example, it tends to be red and spotty as you describe. As to using Curel or any other moiturizer, I’m sure it won’t hurt and if it makes you feel better, give it a try.  You may want to try something heavier, like Eucerin in the tub, especially right after bathing, as heavier moisturizers will work better. Good luck! Best regards, Check out our website too–do you love oak furniture? http://www.barnfurniture.com
